Essentials

When and where does the event start?

The event starts and finishes at Laërskool Worcester-Oos, just off High Street, Worcester, on Sunday 2026-10-04.

What time does my race start?

  • Group 1 (105 km): Elite, Juniors and Teams start at 7:30 AM.
  • Group 2 (105 km): All other 105 km riders start at 7:40 AM.
  • Group 3 (46 km): All 46 km riders start at 8:00 AM.

Who can ride the 105 km?

Riders under 15 are not allowed on the 105 km route. Riders under 17 must start in Group 2.

What if I miss my start group?

If you miss Group 1, you start with Group 2. If you miss Group 2, you may start with Group 3, but only on the 46 km route. We cannot accommodate 105 km riders in Group 3.

What is the weather policy? Can the event be shortened or cancelled?

We race in rain. We will only shorten or cancel the event for safety reasons, such as lightning, extreme wind or a road closure we cannot manage. If we cancel, your entry is honoured at the rescheduled event. Any decision will be posted on tourdeworcester.co.za and emailed to riders by 5:00 AM on race morning.

Race number collection

Where and when do I collect my race number?

  • Friday 2026-10-02, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM: CycleLab Paarl, 12 Cecilia Street, Southern Paarl
  • Saturday 2026-10-03, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM: CycleLab N1 City, Goodwood, Cape Town
  • Sunday 2026-10-04, 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM: Laërskool Worcester-Oos

If you ride in Group 1, collect before race morning if you can. Collection closes at the same time as your start.

What do I need to bring?

Nothing if you are collecting your own number. Just show up. If you are collecting for others, bring either the registration confirmation email that lists their names, or a signed letter from the original purchaser.

What is in the race pack?

Your race pack contains your bib number, number board, timing tag, cable ties and safety pins. Pin the bib to your jersey and attach the number board to your bike with the cable ties. Write an emergency contact and any medical information on the back of your bib. Number boards are collected at the finish.

Entries and changes

Can someone ride in my place?

Yes. Substitutions are allowed until 8:00 AM on Friday 2026-10-02.

Email support@myriadevents.co.za with both names and we’ll move the entry across. The substitute needs their own CSA licence or day licence. There are no substitutions on race morning.

Can I correct my name or change my distance?

Yes, at number collection on Friday, on Saturday, or on race morning.

I’m injured and can’t ride. What are my options?

We are within seven days of the event, so refunds and deferrals are no longer available. You can nominate a substitute until 8:00 AM on Friday 2026-10-02.

Do I need my CSA membership or licence?

If you hold an annual membership or licence, you may be asked to show your virtual card on the app. If you paid for a day licence, we have it on record.

Race day

What should I bring on race day?

  • Your bike in good working order
  • A helmet, which is compulsory
  • Your bib, number board and timing tag (if collected on Fri or Sat)
  • Your CSA membership (if applicable) and ID
  • Two full water bottles
  • Sunblock
  • A phone with an emergency contact saved in it

What time should I arrive?

Aim to be parked 60 to 75 minutes before your start, and allow a few minutes to walk to the rider holding area. That means 6:15 AM for the 105 km and 6:45 AM for the 46 km. Registration opens at 6:00 AM.

Where do I park?

Park on the open ground between Robertson Road and Murray Street. There is overflow parking on the other side if it fills up. From there, walk or ride to the rider holding area at Laërskool Worcester-Oos, following the marshals and the parking signage.

Are there toilets at the venue?

Yes, at the start and finish area.

On the route

The route

View the routes online, or download them to your cycling computer, using these Ride with GPS links:

Both routes are on tourdeworcester.co.za, listed under each distance (expand using the + sign). The route is marshalled at every major intersection and fully signed. Download the GPX anyway, because signage can be moved and marshals cannot be everywhere.

What are the route rules?

The route is open to traffic apart from the start and finish area. Keep left and obey the rules of the road at all times. Helmets are compulsory, earphones are not allowed, and there is no littering along the route. Keep your wrappers until the next water point.

How many water points are there, and where are they?

The 105 km route passes four water points plus the finish. The 46 km route passes one plus the finish.

  1. Top of Nuy Hill at 21 km (both routes)
  2. Aan de Doorns at 43 km (105 km only)
  3. Stettyn Family Vineyards at 66 km, which is the 105 km turnaround
  4. Aan de Doorns at 90 km (105 km only)
  5. Finish

Every water point has water and Squeezy nutrition. Aan de Doorns is the main water point and has basic first aid.

Are there cut-off times?

There are no cut-offs on the route, but the finish closes at 1:00 PM.

What do I do if I get a mechanical?

There is a tech tent at the venue before the start, and a sweeper vehicle follows the last rider. There is no neutral mechanical support on the route, so carry a spare tube, tyre levers, and a pump or plugs.

What if I need medical help on the route?

Medical support covers the route and the finish, and there is first aid at Aan de Doorns. Phone Sue on 083 578 9375 or tell the nearest marshal. The number is also printed on your bib.

Can I drop down to the shorter route if I’m struggling?

Yes, but tell a marshal. The two routes share their early kilometres, so the switch is straightforward. You will be recorded as a 46 km finisher and will not score 105 km series points.

I can’t finish. How do I withdraw so nobody comes looking for me?

Tell the nearest marshal or water point, or phone Sue on 083 578 9375. Hand in your timing tag if you can. Everyone on the course must be accounted for; otherwise we will search for you.

At the finish and after

What do I get at the finish?

Every finisher gets a medal, water or an energy drink, and our immense love and respect. Please hand in your number board.

When and where is prizegiving?

Prizegiving is at about 11:00 AM at the finish area. Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Elite men and women
  • Junior men and women
  • Overall winners, men and women, on both the 105 km and the 46 km
  • The Squeezy fastest final split award
  • The CycleLab Community Cup

When do results go live?

Results are live during the race on the live results page. Final results are published once the timing team has verified them.

My time looks wrong. Who do I contact, and by when?

Email support@myriadevents.co.za within seven days with your race number and what looks wrong. Corrections are made using chip data and finish-line footage, and we’ll confirm the outcome either way.

Will there be photos?

Yes. Race-day photos will be posted on our [Facebook page] on Monday 2026-10-05.

I left something behind. Who do I contact?

Email support@myriadevents.co.za. Lost property is kept for 30 days.

Spectators

Where is the best place to watch?

Stettyn Family Vineyards is the best spectator spot. It is the 105 km turnaround, at the 66 km mark. The farm is under renovation, so plan on a tea or coffee rather than a wine tasting.

Are the roads closed?

No. Spectators should park off the route and expect traffic.

Is there food and coffee at the finish?

Yes, there is food and coffee at the finish area.

Is the finish accessible for someone with limited mobility?

Yes. Parking near the finish area can be arranged on request. Email support@myriadevents.co.za before race day.
